Chemical Peel AfterCare 

(For AlumierMD & The Perfect Derma Peel)

What to Expect:

Redness, tightness, dryness, and peeling typically begin within 2–3 days and can last up to 7 days. This is a normal part of the process—don’t pick or peel!

 

First 24–48 Hours, Do:

  • Use only the post-peel kit or products provided.

  • Gently cleanse with lukewarm water (no scrubbing).

  • Apply moisturizer and SPF 30+ daily.

  • Pat skin dry—don’t rub.

 

Avoid:

  • Sun exposure

  • Makeup (for 24–48 hours)

  • Heat/sweating (workouts, saunas, hot showers)

  • Exfoliants, retinoids, or acids

  • Picking, peeling, or touching flaking skin

 

Days 3–7

  • Peeling and dryness may increase—this is expected.

  • Continue using only gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

  • Avoid active products until peeling is complete.

  • Wear mineral sunscreen daily—your skin is more sun-sensitive.

After Peeling is Complete (Usually Day 7+)

  • You may resume regular skincare unless directed otherwise.

  • Keep protecting your skin with SPF daily.

  • Skin will appear smoother, brighter, and more even-toned.

 

Important Notes

  • Peeling results and downtime vary by peel type and skin condition.

  • Avoid sun for at least 7 days post-peel, longer if possible.

  • Do not wax, thread, or use hair removal on treated area until skin has healed.

  • Contact your provider if you experience unusual irritation or signs of infection.

Aftercare

What to Expect:

Redness, tightness, and mild swelling (like a sunburn) for 24–48 hours. Skin may feel dry or flake for a few days.

 

First 24–48 Hours, Do:

  • Use a gentle cleanser & hydrating serum (like hyaluronic acid).

  • Moisturize often.

  • Apply mineral SPF 30+ daily.

  • Keep skin clean and hydrated.

Avoid:

  • Makeup

  • Sun exposure

  • Sweating (gym, saunas)

  • Pools, hot tubs, and harsh skincare (acids, retinoids, exfoliants)

 

Days 3–7

  • Skin may flake—don’t pick or scrub.

  • You can resume makeup (after 48 hours) and normal skincare (after day 5–7), excluding strong actives.

  • Keep using SPF and gentle skincare.

 

Important:

  • Avoid direct sun for 1 week.

  • Results improve over 4–6 weeks.

  • For best results, complete your treatment series.

Aftercare

What to Expect:

Minor swelling, redness, or small bumps at injection sites are normal and should resolve within a few hours. Full results appear gradually over 3–14 days.

 

First 4 Hours, Do:

  • Stay upright (no lying down).

  • Gently move facial muscles (frown, raise eyebrows) to help distribute product.

 

Avoid:

  • Touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas

  • Lying flat or bending over

  • Applying makeup over injection sites

 

First 24 Hours, Do:

  • Use gentle skincare

  • Resume light daily activities (no strenuous exercise)

 

Avoid:

  • Exercise, saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga

  • Alcohol or blood-thinning medications (if possible)

  • Facials, massages, or other treatments to the area

 

Days 2–14

  • Results will develop gradually. Allow for full 14 days before any touch-ups.

  • Follow up if a touch-up is needed (usually after 2 weeks).

  • Avoid additional cosmetic treatments in the area unless cleared by your provider.

  • Facials, massages, or other treatments to the area

 

Important Notes

  • Tiny bruises or headaches are possible but temporary. (Tylenol is okay to take.)

  • Avoid pressing on or massaging the area for at least 48 hours.

  • Call your provider if you experience unusual symptoms like drooping, muscle weakness, or vision changes (rare).

 

Results typically last 3–4 months. Book your next appointment to maintain a smooth, refreshed look!

HA Filler 
Aftercare

What to Expect:

Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising are common and usually resolve within 1–2 weeks. Results are visible immediately, but continue to settle over 1–2 weeks.

 

General Aftercare (All Areas)

First 24–48 Hours, Do:

  • Apply a cold compress gently to reduce swelling and bruising.

  • Keep your head elevated when resting or sleeping.

  • Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet.

 

Avoid:

  • Touching, pressing, or massaging the treated areas (unless instructed).

  • Strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, or steam rooms.

  • Alcohol, blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen) if possible, to reduce bruising.

  • Excessive sun or UV exposure — wear SPF.

  • Dental work or facial treatments for at least 1 week.

Lip Filler Specific
Aftercare

First 24–48 Hours, Do:

  • Use ice packs to minimize swelling.

  • Keep lips moisturized with the recommended balm.

  • Drink plenty of water.

 

Avoid:

  • Using straws, oral sex, vaping or smoking.

  • Applying lipstick or lip makeup for 24 hours.

  • Pressure on lips (avoid resting your face on hands).

 

Days 3–7

  • Mild bruising or swelling may persist—this is normal.

  • Avoid picking or massaging the treated area.

  • Continue gentle skincare and SPF protection.

 

Important Notes

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements 1 week before and after if possible.

  • Results last 6–18 months, depending on product and treatment area.

  • Contact your provider immediately if you experience severe pain, changes in skin color, numbness, or signs of infection.
